Cha-am beach early morning |
Late yesterday afternoon, with a strong on shore wind blowing and rough seas at Cha-am, I decided to give sea watching a try from the beach, whilst having a beer or three. After two hours and plenty of funny looks from the locals I had seen a few local birds, eventually I located an adult
Pomarine Skua flying north followed a few minutes later by a
Bridled Tern, full of enthusiasm I gave it another hour and half seeing bugger all. Also seen over the three and half hours 30
Whiskered Terns, c20
Common Terns, 10
Brown-headed Gulls, three
Great-crested Terns, a
Caspian Tern and three large bottles of Chang beer.
